This should include an introduction of yourself, the position you are interested in (President, Vice-Presidents, Treasurer, reps) and what you plan to do for the club in the next year.

Dr. Skovronsky is the CEO and founder of Avid Radiopharmaceuticals (http://www.avidrp.com), a clinical-stage molecular imaging company in the field of molecular brain imaging.  Avid’s pipeline includes compounds for the detection of Alzheimer’s (currently in Phase III), Parkinson, Lewy bodies, and diabetes mellitus.

Dr. Skovronsky will be sharing his experience as an entrepreneur and discuss the challenges of starting a company.

Interested in Solar Policy in Massachusetts?

Elizabeth Kennedy, Project Manager at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center has been at the center of the recent transition of Solar rebate programs and policy in Massachusetts. She will be speaking about the recently announced Commonwealth Solar II Program and the Solar Stimulus Program in Massachusetts. Massachusetts has developed very progressive policies regarding solar development and in this transition of programs we have the opportunity to reflect upon the impact to date and the anticipated market moving forward.  All are welcome to join in this discussion of Solar development in MA.

Net Impact Chili Cookoff Wednesday!

Hungry for glory, or just good chili?  Bring your appetite to the grad lounge on Wednesday, February 24 from 11-12:30 pm or 5-6 pm and help judge the entrants in the Net Impact Chili Cookoff!  Prices are $3 for one sample, $5 for three samples, or $10 for all the samples you can eat, and all proceeds go to benefit the Net Impact Case Competition.  The winner will receive a restaurant gift certificate and everlasting renown...at least until next year.  Contact Laura Plattner (plattner@bu.edu) for more details or to sign up as a contestant.

Lunar New Year Lunch

This year's Lunar New Year Lunch hosted by the Asian Business Club will be on Friday, 2/26, at 12 pm. It will be held at the Peach Farm restaurant in Chinatown.

The price is $10/person and the menu includes:
Seafood combination soup
Calamari, pork rib, shrimp
Twin lobster ginger and garlic
Crispy chicken
Sweet and sour pork
Mince pork with spicy tofu
Seafood nest
Fish filet in sizzling pan with blackbean sauce
Peapot steam with garlic sauce

The event is capped at 30 people and ABC officers will be at the grad lounge to sign people up. The $10 payment will be required when you sign up.

Guest Speaker: Michael Graham, Senior Managing Director, OMERS Private Equity, an Ontario Municipal Employee Retirement System company.

OMERS PE manages the private equity activities of OMERS Administration Corporation and today has $4 billion of investments under management. The group's investment strategy includes the active ownership of businesses in North America and Europe.  OMERS is one of Canada's largest pension funds and was recently voted one of Canada's top 50 employers by Hewitt Associates.

Michael joined OMERS Private Equity in July 2003. From 1996 to 2003, he was Vice President of Working Ventures Canadian Fund Inc., a $600 million private equity and venture capital fund based in Toronto, where he was responsible for sourcing and structuring expansion, mezzanine and buyout investments in Canadian companies. He began his career in finance at the National Bank of Canada and HSBC Bank Canada structuring and managing senior debt facilities. Michael is also an experienced director having served on over fifteen Canadian private and public company boards.  He earned an Honours Bachelor Commerce, Queen’s University and Master of Business Administration, Schulich School of Business.

Net Impact Case Competition: Open Through March 4th!

What: The 15th Annual BU Net Impact Case Competition
When: Friday, April 2nd from 3-9 pm
Where: SMG, 4th Floor

Who: 12 teams of 3-4 people each, made up of MBAs from Babson, BC, Bentley, and MIT...and, of course, BU MBAs like you!

Why: Networking with faculty and industry leaders interested in using business to promote and further social and environmental responsibility, dinner, cash prizes, a closing reception with drink tickets, friendly competition, a resume boost, and an excuse to work on an INTERESTING HBS case!  What could be better?
